Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault
Laws and policies make a difference. One vital role played by the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA) is to advance policies to stop sexual violence and ensure victims receive the justice they deserve. We change public policy by:
- Identifying and strengthening sexual violence prevention approaches
- Supporting adequate funding for victim service advocacy programs
- Building a strong justice system response to sexual violence through effective laws and policies - See more at: http://www.mncasa.org/change-policy#sthash.yVMj8Hph.dpuf
Minnesota Coalition Against Battered Women
Public policy (or “politics”) focuses on who has power to decide how our world is and should be. Or, who gets to decide how things run in our homes, schools, workplaces, communities, states, nation and the world. In formalized policy, the rules can be legislated, interpreted by the courts, and enforced by the executive branch (such as the mayor, governor, or president). In solidarity with our member programs, MCBW works to influence public policy so that together we can improve the conditions of survivors of domestic violence and their families.
